Project Manager

Position Summary:
Responsible for the overall management of projects from an Owner’s (Client’s) perspective. Works with Owner’s Representative, acts as Owner’s Project Manager including coordination and oversight of functional leads for those tasks that Owner self performs such as Regulatory, Siting, Land Acquisition, ROW Management and Stakeholder Consultations, First Nations, Project Engineering, Operations, Safety, etc…

Reports to: Program Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains Project Communications between Owner’s Project Team, EPC Teams and other project stakeholders.
Monitors the deliverables from Owner’s Functional Groups and manages the project team resources and personnel to ensure the proper objectives to meeting schedule milestones and maintaining cost are achieved.
Management of contractual relationship between Owner and EPC Teams.
Manages the stage/gate process of the Owner Project Delivery Model through all stages for which Burns and McDonnell has been assigned Project Manager.
Manages the development and submission of Facility Applications for projects assigned.
Provides support to Owner for Information Requests (IRs), testimony, meetings with stakeholders, open houses and other permitting requirements associated with projects assigned.
With input from project team members generate Owner’s Monthly Project Progress Report
Provides project budgets, change orders, cash flow forecasts, estimates, and project cost reports for internal and Owner use.
Interface with Construction Manager, Team Leads, Safety Manager, Environmental Manager/Lead and QA/QC Manager.
Coordinates with Owner functional groups during appropriate estimating stages for the development of Owner Functional Commitment forms, Development/Review of Key Project Documents, etc...
Provide supervision and mentorship to Program Assistant Project Managers and Program Project Admins.
Review and comment on PC team contracting plan.
Review and comment on PC team material procurement plan.
After transfer of the DBM to the EPC Team supports the development of the EPC project proposals.
Supports and advises the EPC team, Owner team, Developers/Customers and AESO regarding project schedules and project goals
Works with project team to develop Project related Risk Management and Mitigation Plans and is responsible for the upkeep of Project Risk Registers.
Administration of Change Management between EPC Teams, Owner Functional Groups, Owner Management and AESO.

Reviews and provides comments for:
Project cost report forecasts
Project specific progress reports
Schedules
Monthly cash flows
Monthly cost reports
Accounts payable reports
Internal cost reports
Change order logs
Invoices (Including Final Invoices to Owner)

Requirements:
Core Competencies:
5-7+ years applicable experience in project management with experience in the Power utilities preferred.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Business development experience.
Proven ability to manage team budgets and schedules with the ability to implement corrective actions and processes at a Project level.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related science field.
PEng/PE Certification (Preferred)
PMP Certification (Preferred)
