Our client needs 3 -4 PeopleSoft HCM Functional Analysts to augment their existing HRIM production team and/or participate as needed in a Peoplesoft 9.2 Upgrade project. T


ROLE SUMMARY:

The role of the PeopleSoft HCM Functional Analyst is to act as a liaison between Human Resources functional user groups and technical group to help define functional business requirements, analyse and validate system functionality by performing user acceptance testing to ensure solution meets established business requirements. Performs data analysis utilizing routine and special HR operational reports, including creating and executing queries and reports.

Must have hands-on experience with Peoplesoft HCM modules,(Core HR, Base Benefits, Payroll North America, Time and Labour, Absence Management, Position Management) from the perspective of configuration, table structures, module functionality and employee data and event management.

MAJOR DUTIES:

1. Conduct root cause analysis, testing and troubleshooting of related issues within the HR environment, consult with users to understand business needs and systems requirements. Interpret high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements. Work with technical team in arriving at a solution, create test scenarios and conduct end-to-end testing and training to end users.

2. Conduct data analysis and understands Peoplesoft HCM data model and is able to create and deliver ad hoc and delivered reports as per need.

3. Review and analyze system functionality to determine if it can meet business needs. Conduct fit-gap analysis as needed, suggest changes to business processes, analyze and assess the impacts of any change to system configuration.

4. Participate in creating test scripts and conduct end to end testing activities and advise if system changes or enhancements pass/fail all tests and confirm readiness for implementation. Completes all activities in the agreed timeframe and provides timely updates.

5. May be assigned a specific task working independently or be assigned to a Project Team as per need. Must maintain updated documentation and ensure knowledge transfer with team regarding new findings or enhancements including best practices.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

PeopleSoft HCM Functional Analyst does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities.


DECISION MAKING:

The incumbent is accountable for the effective functional use of the PeopleSoft HCM system, and makes assessments regarding the effectiveness of existing business processes, practices to maximize the functionality of the system. The incumbent must be able to recognize potential system problem which require further action. Discretion, judgment, tact and diplomacy are essential.

DIRECTION RECEIVED:

Reporting to the HRIM Manager, the HRIM Analyst may be assigned to a number of tasks and/or projects, and will receive direction from the assigned Project Manager and the HRIM Manager for the projects that are undertaken.


QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Educational Requirements:
Post secondary degree in Computer science or Business Administration or equivalent work experience.

B. Experience Requirements:

• Minimum two years experience in Human Resources Information Management with practical experience in full suite of PeopleSoft HR modules in version 9.1 or higher for HR Core, NA Payroll, Base Benefits, and Position Management.
• Expertise in Peoplesoft Time and Labour and/or Absence Management modules is an asset.
• Experience investigating, analyzing, testing and implementing system applications in a large integrated PC/client-server/Internet technology based delivery environment.
• Several years experience working in a public sector department/division.
• Experience working within a project team environment.

C. Skills (Specialized knowledge):

• Demonstrated skills in applying technologies, experience in implementing, efficient and effective business system solutions.
• Proven ability to successfully complete projects of varying magnitude and complexity.
• Demonstrated expertise in all phases of HR systems analysis, and related concepts and a thorough knowledge of the tools and techniques applicable to the business processes being supported.
• Experience in end to end testing of solutions including detailed documentation of test results.
• Ability to train HR functional users with the new system and related products.
• Solid team player, capable of working independently and in a team atmosphere`.
• Ability to participate in multiple projects with competing priorities and strict deadlines.
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills using PS Query, MS Excel and MS Access.
• Ability to communicate effectively to key stakeholders and to communicate effectively with University Information Technology Services
• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.


D. Knowledge:

• Extensive familiarity with all aspects of HR related business processes is essential.
• Knowledge of emerging IT trends, technologies and thorough knowledge of HR application systems, preferably PeopleSoft/Oracle HCM version 9.1 or greater.
• Strong understanding of relational databases.
• Solid understanding of standard implementation cycles is required.
