The major work duties are installation of concrete/shotcrete walls. This includes placing and finishing, repair, specialized decorative finishing and curing concrete/shotcrete.
As a shotcrete finisher the primary role is to check the formwork and steel reinforcement, place and finish shotcrete into work, finish shotcrete to specifications and tolerances according to depth and grade using hand tools and power tools, application of curing compounds, repair deficiencies to finished surface of shotcrete, cut control joints and erect scaffolding.
The successful candidate will be required to work in confined locations, work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages and be able to instruct apprentices. Due to the nature of the industry this position is physically demanding, handling heavy loads, bending, crouching and kneeling.
The candidate must be able to communicate in the English language and must have at least 1 year of experience in shotcrete finishing.
The successful candidate is expected to have skills in reading text, document use, numeracy, writing, communication, working with others, problem solving, decision making, critical thinking, job task planning and organizing, ability to find information, continuous learning and computer skills.
Ideally the candidate will have ACI Nozzleman Certification, Cement Finisher Trade Certification, WHMIS, Steel-toed boots and a valid Driver's License.
