-Recruitment process for administrative and unionized employees.
-Assist in the delivery of orientation training.
-Serve as the Health and Safety support.
-Maintain and update information regarding employees on leave, including short/long term disability, parental/maternity and WSIB.
-Create professional business letters, memos, and reports.
-Schedule and organize meetings (book meeting space, assemble and distribute agendas and take minutes).
-Process departmental staff time sheets/attendance and payroll data entry when required.
-Maintain grievance records and filing.
-Maintain and conduct salaried birthdays, brunches, and other company events.
-Update and maintain training database and binders, provide information to departments requiring training information.
-Other duties as assigned.
-A University Degree or College Diploma in Human Resources or a related field, or completion of a professional development program in Human Resources Administration is required.
-Eligible or in progress of becoming eligible for CHRP certification, an asset.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
-Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
-Good judgment and ability to work under pressure.
-Demonstrate a high degree of initiative and self-direction.
-Highly thorough, accurate, detail-oriented and well-organized team player.
-Demonstrated ability to exercise the utmost tact, discretion, confidentiality and diplomacy at all times.
-Solid organizational and effective time management skills combined with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet the demands and timelines of day-to-day operations.
-Strong working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Access.
