JOB ORDER NUMBER:
The successful candidate will have experience in a Canadian Public Accounting firm at a Management level, have demonstrated a progression in complexity of audit and accounting tasks, have superior tax knowledge and have exposure to NPO’s and privately-held corporations. This position will report directly to the Partners.
In order to be COMPETITIVE for this position, you will have:
Qualified CPA/ CA with 5-7 years of public practice experience working at a manager level.
Our client, a strong local public accounting firm, is one of the best kept secrets within Kitchener/Waterloo. Client base includes owner-managed businesses and not-for-profit organizations which are primarily located in Southern Ontario.
Manager opening to be succession planned into partnership within a 5 year window
-Manage client audits, reviews and compilation engagements including scheduling, planning, risk assessment, file reviews and budget preparation.
-Continuous communication with Partner with respect to engagement issues and progress.
-Closely manage client relationships.
-Manage and train staff at various levels.
-Motivate and assist staff in their professional development.
-Other duties as assigned.
Commensurate upon experience.
-CPA/ CA designation
-Undergraduate or Graduate Degree.
-Possess a CPA, CA designation or equivalent reciprocal designation.
-A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience within a small to mid-size public accounting firm looking for that next step and long-term career progression into partnership.
-Excellent project management skills and ability to manage relationships at all levels within the firm and within the client’s organization.
-Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
-Dedication to teamwork, leadership and integrity within a professional environment.
-Computer proficient with knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Caseware/Caseview and TaxPrep.
Per case basis however strong preference on local candidates.
The successful candidate will supervise and manage junior staff on audit reviews and compilations.
