JOB ORDER NUMBER:
Our client is a mid-size multinational corporation with offices on every continent and also represented worldwide through dealers and agents. They specialize in products and equipment utilized in a wide range of materials handling and people elevating applications. Their North American division is headquartered in Toronto. Projects consist in the design, manufacturing and installation of engineered electro-mechanical systems. The customer base is located both in the US and Canada.
Due to a doubling of their annual revenues over the past 5 years, they are currently in need of adding an experienced Vendor/Contracts Coordinator to their supply management team.
The successful applicant will plan and coordinate their major subsystem manufacturers located primarily in North America. This position reports to the Supply Chain Manager and it is supported by the supply chain team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Monitoring progress of each vendor order, typically electro-mechanical equipment fabrication, assembly and testing.
-Coordination of supplied materials and information to support the subcontract work.
-Supporting the Supply Chain Manager in sourcing potential suppliers.
-Control and maintenance of all shop tools and equipment.
-Supporting the ISO program for quality, safety and environmental as it relates to the subcontracting activities.
-Preparation of production schedules for each subcontracted scope.
-Reporting and keeping the organization informed of progress and issues that may adversely affect costs, schedules, quality or safety.
-Frequently visiting local subcontract vendors.
-Periodic visits to remote subcontract vendors.
-Supporting the Supply Chain department with procurement of mechanical assemblies and components to support subcontracts.
-Confirmation of supplier part quality through inspections.
EXPERIENCE: In order to be COMPETITIVE for this position, you will have:
-At least 3 years’ experience coordinating the supply of third-party electro-mechanical sub- assemblies for your employer’s products.
-Experience with procurement and project coordination involving heavy fabrication and/or mechanical products.
-Post-secondary education in a technical discipline.
-Canadian Permanent Resident status or citizenship.
NOTE: This experience will come from working in industries such as elevators, material handling systems, HVAC and similar electro-mechanical product manufacturing. Applications that do not meet these requirements will not be acknowledged.
Commensurate with qualifications and experience for this relatively junior position.
Post-secondary education in a technical discipline.
Up to 25%.
