In support of our capital programs/projects and continued growth, Comtech is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Accounts Payable & Payroll Support Clerk.
Responsibilities
General tasks:
- Reporting to the Financial Controller and working collaboratively within a team of finance professionals
- Performing back-up duties as required for other members of the finance/accounting team
- Performing other ad-hoc duties and projects, as required
Accounts Payable:
- Manage the full A/P cycle from receipt of invoices to payment; including coding invoices, matching purchase orders, obtaining approval, and entering the invoices into the accounting system
- Prepare batch check runs, wire payments and ACH payments and file all relevant back up documents
- Maintain accurate, timely A/P transactions
- Monthly reconciliation of A/P ledgers and subledgers and prepare ledger reports for review
- Maintain vendor and benefit provider records and all payment information
- Management and support of credit card approval, coding and reconciliation of charges
- Ensure all accounts payable policies and procedures are adhered to
- Maintain weekly cash flow reports
Payroll Support:
- Support Canadian and US payroll functions which include both employees and subcontractors
- Support with weekly time and expense capture for payroll processing including entries into the accounting system
- Responsible for expense capture for projects and coordination of billable time and expense with the billing team
Qualifications Required
- 5+ years of related professional experience
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance or a related field
- Experience in a project-based consulting or professional services company is preferred
- Experience with Deltek is preferred but not mandatory (we are willing to train)
- Experience with Ceridian is preferred but not mandatory
- Effective communication skills to coordinate the resolution of reported issues across all levels of management and project teams
- Experience and proficiency with Excel is required, including Lookup,Pivot tables, Power Queries, MS Word and MS Outlook
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and problem solving skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to adapt and embrace change in a fast-paced high-growth environment
