Bridge Superintendent - Permanent - Flexible Salary Package - Western Canada (Travel Required)

Hays is excited to be partnering with one of Canada's leading Heavy Civil Construction contractors that is also recognized around the world as an industry leader. The client specializes in real estate development, civil engineering, metallic construction, road construction, energy and concessions.
Your new role
The client is looking for an experienced Superintendent with strong background in bridge construction and bridge rehab. While this position is permanent and will involve travel across western Canada for their many projects, the initial stages of this role will be stationed in the Northwest Territories. Reporting to the Construction Manager, the successful candidate will direct field construction activities and personnel to insure that the assigned areas of responsibility meet project budget, schedule, and safety objectives. Projects will be different in size and will be located in different provinces throughout Western Canada. The Superintendent has frequent contact with clients, client representatives, union representatives, and professional and technical support personnel. The successful candidate must be conformable with travelling often and relocating based on the needs of the client.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for this position, the successful candidate must match the criteria below
- Minimum of 5 years as a superintendent with a background in Bridge Construction
- Knowledge and experience with MTO and/or AB Transportation and/or Infrastructure BC contracts considered and asset
- Driver's License
- Previous background in Carpentry as a Journeyman
- Gold Seal Superintendent Certification considered a large asset
