MatchBox is seeking a Construction Safety Officer for one of the most well-known Developer-Builders in Vancouver. You will have the opportunity to work on two of the largest masterplan communities in Vancouver, providing you with over 10 years of job stability with a company who is known for their commitment to safety and quality projects.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced CSO with a wealth of experience in high-rise, residential projects, ideally in Vancouver. You will also have a background in carpentry or as a labourer, have a passion for getting people home safe, and demonstrate a proven ability to find the balance between production and safety.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced CSO with a wealth of experience in high-rise, residential projects, ideally in Vancouver. You will also have a background in carpentry or as a labourer, have a passion for getting people home safe, and demonstrate a proven ability to find the balance between production and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the construction crews when necessary
- Liaise and communicate with WCB when required
- Ensure safety compliance and promote safe working conditions
- Daily site inspection and audits, as well as toolbox talks
- Prepare site safety plans, conduct hazard assessments, incident investigations and risk assessments, as required
- Report all accidents, incidents and injuries to appropriate parties and administer first-aid when necessary
- Facilitate and participate in site inspections, and implementing corrective action as required
- Maintain and prepare thorough documentation and reports
Requirements:
- Prior experience on high-rise projects.
- Possess a Certified Construction Safety Officer (CSO) or (NCSO) designation
- OFA 3 certification; OFA level 2 is sufficient depending on your experience
- Exceptional organization skills with strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to show initiative and drive to take ownership of the site and keep busy.
- Carpentry background is an asset
- Strong Communication Skills - both oral and written
