The Tlicho Government represents the interests of the Tlicho First Nation and its people under the self-government agreement. The Tlicho people have strong ties to the land and a rich cultural heritage. Ensuring sound financial management is critical to the government’s on-going success.
The Controller is accountable for overseeing and managing the financial systems, operations and activities of the Tlicho Government including implementing financial policies and procedures, maintaining and upgrading the computerized financial systems and overseeing internal controls, accounts payable and receivable, payroll and travel functions.
The successful applicant will have a degree in a related discipline, and preferably have an accredited Financial or Accounting Designation, combined with:
- directly related financial management and supervisory experience
- very good problem-solving skills
- strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work as a team member, and
- the ability to oversee the activities of several employees and financial management and planning systems and budgetary processes.
Equivalencies may be considered. The starting salary for this position is $95,058 per year plus a comprehensive benefits package.
