Do you enjoy problem solving? As the Electrical Technician you are responsible for all electrical equipment repairs and preventative maintenance duties including; trouble shooting, testing, calibration, analysis, documentation and recording of all findings in the maintenance management system (Maximo) as per company standards and best work practices. You will repair electrical, electronic, PLC, SCADA, microprocessor, high voltage switchgear, building HVAC systems, and metering/measurement instrumentation equipment to ensure accuracy, reliability, and safety.
What you will do:
Conduct predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance in compliance with regulations and company OM&M Job Plan procedures and requirements.
Maintain, troubleshoot and or commission electrical equipment, measurement equipment and other non-process plant equipment with specific attention to risk awareness in terms of safety, quality and operations.
Maintain high voltage substation, 5kv switchgear and MCCs.
Perform scheduled work, assist with planning / scheduling and ordering of parts.
Assist with the development and implementation of maintenance job plans, procedures and JHAs where required.
Collaborate with others to plan, schedule, and execute maintenance work efficiently and effectively.
Responsible for creating and sustaining safe work practices, improving reliability and reducing costs.
Complete work orders with detailed actions and create Follow Up work orders when required.
Participate in 24/7 On Call rotation.
Who you are:
Interprovincial Journeymen Construction and Maintenance Electrician (309A) with completion of an approved apprenticeship program
5 years recent field experience working on testing, troubleshooting, calibrating and maintaining: 5kv equipment, process instrumentation, PLC& SCADA systems, UPS systems, motor operated valves, motor control centers, control circuits, EHT, ethernet and Modbus communications
Experienced in testing and troubleshooting equipment on active processes, and control systems.
Ability to interpret P&IDs, flow diagrams, one-line diagrams, electrical schematics and comprehend technical documents
Ability to accurately follow job plans, document preventative maintenance activities and repairs.
Accurately test and calibrate equipment using a multimeter, process meter, 5kv megger, RTD calibrator and other.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Maintain a professional behavior, and positive workplace culture
Demonstrate and promote strong safety culture.
