Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing traffic signal controls and lighting systems in coordination with roadway maintenance activities per standards and conditions specified in the contract and as directed by the supervisor.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of multi-level roadway and building light systems, electronic message signs, lane control signals, CCTV cameras, high and low voltage power distribution equipment and PLC Control systems
Performs maintenance and fault diagnostics required to ensure interrupted services to the operating systems.
All other duties as assigned.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Familiarity with hand tools and power equipment preferred.
Capability of working in an environment in which demands and priorities change rapidly
Ability to speak and understand Basic English
Highly developed sense of safety awareness and perceptive ability.
Ability to recognize hazards inherent in routine and non-routine tasks and make adjustments to avoid loss, injury or accident.
Ability to communicate with co-workers’ safety instructions.
Ability to think clearly and focus on your safety in your immediate surroundings, while using tools and equipment, while driving or operating equipment.
You will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to your job.
Education and Experience
HS Diploma or GED
Five years of demonstrated experience in plant facilities maintenance at Journeyman Level or higher. (Preferred)
Experience with computer-based maintenance management systems (Preferred)
Position requires you to maintain a Valid Ontario Class DZ driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Journeyman Electrician or Master Electrician License (Required)
DOT certifications (Highly Desirable)
Work Conditions / Physical Demands
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted,
Use manual and powered pneumatic, hydraulic, gas, and electric powered tools and equipment.
Routine exposure to outside weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions; high precarious places; fume or airborne particles.
Frequent exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, frequent exposure to insects and infrequent exposure to reptiles/rodents, the noise level in the work environment usually moderate but on occasion can be more than moderate.
