THE OPPORTUNITY:
The opportunity is a full-time position as an Electrician for our well-respected client located in Brampton. This is an afternoon shift (40 hours per week). The Electrician is required to install and maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical equipment and electrical distribution.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
- Report food safety and quality issues to personnel with authority to initiate action.
- Ensure that all work is performed according to pertinent GMP, HACCP, SQF, CFIA and all established regulations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
- Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacle, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components
- Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
- Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors.
- Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
- Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on electrical and electronic equipment programs and keep maintenance records.
- May install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.
- Provide insight and suggestions for improvement to equipment and processes.
- Attend all job training as assigned.
- Completion of post-secondary school.
- Must have completed a recognized electrician apprenticeship program and a combination of over five years recent work experience in the trade, college or industry courses in industrial electrical equipment/repair.
- Trade certification or ability to follow an apprenticeship is required.
- Basic understanding of PLC logic and programming.
EXPERIENCE:
