About the Job
Maintain assigned costumes.
This position pays $16.00 per hour.
- Ensure all assigned costumes, wigs and worn props are maintained and worn in the same state as set during Tech Week by the Designers, Producer and Entertainment Management
- Perform daily cleaning, repairs, and maintenance of all assigned costumes
- Conduct daily checks of assigned costumes for preventative maintenance purposes; includes all assigned character costumes, clothing, wigs, headpieces, hats, shoes, costume pieces, and any worn props
- Maintain at all times a positive rapport with all guests and employees in the Park, whether it is during a performance, or during a personal encounter while out in the Park
- Ensure that all safety standards and practices are met
- Abide by all Canada’s Wonderland policies and procedures as set out by the park and the Entertainment Department
- Perform all duties as assigned by Department Management including but not be limited to the cleaning of the break room, associated backstage areas, clean-up rehearsals, meetings and “notes” sessions
- Use all means at his/her disposal to promote a positive spirit of unity within the department
- Assist with other duties as required
- Currently enrolled in or a graduate of a post secondary program that includes a specialty in theatrical wardrobe, costuming or fashion
- Possess a good understanding of all costume and wardrobe equipment including sewing machines, sergers, irons, steamers and laundry and maintenance equipment
- Solid working knowledge of adhesives will assist in character costume maintenance
- A knowledge and understanding of fabrics and fabric care is also required
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs
- Able to wear personal protective equipment deemed necessary to perform this job safely (may include; gloves, mask and/or face shield, non-slip shoes etc)
