Accounting, Analysis, Reporting & Operation (AARO) within Chief Accountant is responsible for delivering financial accounting and reporting services for the Wholesale Bank.
The businesses they support include Equity/Interest Rate Derivatives, Credit and Customized Solution Group. They play a key role ensuring that effective resourcing, processes, controls, and systems are managed according to business partner and regulatory requirements as well as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
?To ensure processes and internal controls are maintained within the group function efficiently and effectively.
?Maintenance of source system reconciliation to the General Ledger
?Assists in implementation of new accounting policy changes, reporting, regulatory, and other issues as they arise
?Process entries accurately into the General Ledger on a timely basis
?Coordinate and assist in system migration and implementation of new trading system
?Develop expertise in accounting policy requirements of Derivatives portfolios globally.
?Develop expertise in trading and accounting systems and processes to execute and implement policy requirements.
?Identify accounting issues and provide recommendations for resolution on a timely basis.
?Ensure completeness, accuracy, timeliness of financial accounting and management information.
?Strive for continuous process improvement opportunities to create capacity while maintaining effective process controls.
?Perform month end reconciliation from source system to General Ledger and review final trial balance to ensure financial information is both complete and accurate.
?Perform reconciliation of intercompany and interdesk transactions, manual reclass and workaround due to system limitations.
?Efficient and effective management, and account reconciliation in accordance with Banks' policy.
?Assist in implementation and testing of Source systems
?Assist in implementation of new initiatives requirement into operation
?Able to investigate issues and communicate resolution to senior management
?Assist in setting up the infrastructure necessary to capture the financial information for accounting.

?Coordinate and execute internal and external audits and reporting processes as directed and prepare related presentations on behalf of operational unit.

?Assist in the development and implementation of new financial models, methodologies, frameworks and paradigms to support on-going financial reporting and analysis functions.
?Contribute to the strategic direction of the Finance function by keeping current on emerging issues, industry trends and relevant accounting changes to support own unit or function.
?Ensure efficient and accurate finance operational processes in place that meet all business partner needs and established guidelines as applicable.
?Be knowledgeable of best practices for own area.
?Adhere to internal policies, procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines and contribute to the review of internal processes and activities and assist in identifying potential opportunities to improve operational efficiencies
?Assist in the development of systems and processes supporting daily operations, which may include production of reports, general ledger items, balance sheet attribution, etc.
?Contribute to the development and delivery of operational projects or special initiatives for own area and monitor or track key items.
?Follow up on outstanding processing entries, reconciliation items or other tracking issues to ensure proper resolution and to minimize errors.
?Contribute to process mapping activities including designing process improvements, issue resolution, special projects and production of relevant reports.
?Maintain escalation procedures for own area.
?Conduct regular, ongoing analysis, evaluation and review of business performance and initiatives against established reference points as directed.
?Provide advice and guidance to Finance Management and business partners on a range of finance accounting and operational processes.

NICE TO HAVE:
-Knowledge of financial instruments (i.e. AFS secruities, deferred assets, amortised cost, fair value, the way to treat different assets - trading vs. non trading)
-Knowledge of FRS and Peoplesoft
-Exp. from finance industry
