Financial Assistant (Credit)

⦁ Process and post Customer Account payments, balancing batches in accordance with financial policies and procedures. This could include cheques, Credit card, branch deposit & EFT’s.
⦁ Research customer payment discrepancies (i.e.: reconcile short payments, overpayments, and communicating with branch or customers as required). Maintain records of same and update ongoing resolution.
⦁ Coordinate and assist Financial Managers with monthly account review list
⦁ Manage trade reference requests and assist on credit reviews of customer’s
⦁ Assist with various reports (inactive customer, unapplied cash, etc.)
⦁ Work closely with Finance team to support ongoing department initiatives
⦁ Assist with filing
⦁ Other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
⦁ Minimum secondary Education, business diploma or degree with a financial concentration or relevant finance experience required.
⦁ At least 2-4 years’ experience in working in a credit environment would be considered an asset.
⦁ Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
⦁ Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
⦁ Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
⦁ Actively participate in a team environment
⦁ Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
⦁ Ability to prioritize work assignments in a fast-paced environment
⦁ Strong relationship builder – able to establish both internal and external customer working relationships
⦁ Willingness to go the extra mile
⦁ Experience with SX Enterprise / Trend is an asset
