As a HRC on our HR Team, you will be supporting our Managers and employees across Ontario & Quebec, so we would love to find a candidate who is Bilingual in English & French! To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be highly inquisitive and want to learn as much as you can about the wonderful world of HR. You got questions – we’ll answer them! Yes, there are daily and weekly administrative duties that need to be completed. This includes things such as data validation, labour reports and employee headcount tracking, of new hire and terminations processing, salary planning, labour and government reports and vacation accrual calculations,
Our HRC also handles payroll, so you’ll be responsible for time-sensitive payroll verification, one-time payments, expense reports, bonus calculations, pay rate changes, vacation payout calculations, Kronos & PeopleSoft audits and entry of employee status changes.
It goes without saying, you’ll be privy to a lot of confidential information, so it will be important to conduct yourself professionally, demonstrating discretion and tact. You must be able to work under pressure and handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.
Now – we’re not looking for someone to just tackle the administrative side of things! We need a forward-looking thinker in this role – someone who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions. If it’s broken, our HR team will fix it.
Some other tasks will include:
- Partnering with other WM departments as Payroll, Benefits, Talent, Operations and Sales
- Conducting exit interviews, providing pertinent and accurate information to employees
- Providing administration support in HR projects and initiatives
- Responding to employee requests regarding policies, procedures and other HR related matters
- Extracting and reporting HR metrics and summarizing in reports
- Coaching and training managers on processes/procedures
It will be important to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative and organization skills and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. Your adaptability to change, ability to demonstrate a high level of client service and response will be imperative, as this role will bring competing demands and deadline pressures.
Your strong verbal communication skills, demonstrated ability to actively listen and speak with confidence will make you invaluable in this position, to relay information in a concise and logical manner, encouraging open exchange of ideas and opinions.
From an education standpoint, we’re looking for someone who has completed a post-secondary program in HR and is looking to get their CHRP or CHRA designation. Some HR experience would be great, but an eager-to-learn attitude is better! Since we cover Quebec, French/English Bilingualism would be a huge asset.
