About the Job
Our client within the Education Sector is seeking a skilled and detailed Library Floater to join their team. Hours of work are: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pm paying $15.00 per hour - this position is starting immediately.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Shelving of library material according to Dewey Decimal Classification system and other alpha-numeric library shelving schemes.
- Circulation of library material including checking in and checking out library items.
- Processing library material including security taping, labeling and stamping as well as minor library book repairs.
- Preparing surplus library materials for disposal by creating and circulating lists of surplus library material; sending surplus library material to requesting libraries; boxes remaining surplus library material for disposal.
- Inventory of library materials.
- General library support including retrieving and processing library mail, photocopying, and mailing out library material.
- Provision of interlibrary loan services.
- Other paraprofessional library duties as assigned by manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in shelving library material is required.
- Completion of a Library Technician program in post secondary OR at least 6 months of library experience
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience in performing general library duties.
- Appropriate work experience is defined as a minimum of six (6) months’ work in a library within the last three (3) years.
- Strong attention to detail skills.
- Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
Salary
$15.00 - $15.00 /hour
