POSITION SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Engineer works closely with staff specialists/customers/suppliers to lead the improvement of existing product press equipment. The Manufacturing Engineer tracks, records/reports, identifies/investigates problems and continuous improvement related to existing product/press shop processes, and will also assist in the launch of new assembly and weld processes. The Manufacturing Engineer utilizes the APQP/CFT process to contribute to the smooth launch and implementation of projects and /or EC changes, meeting all critical deadlines and customer requirements. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for all aspects of the project, from its inception through PPAP, production and beyond.
1. Must be capable of managing and leading projects from inception to completion - timing, concept, feasibility, design, construction, try-out, launch, buy-off, budget, prototype programs, and engineering changes. 2. Prepares reports, charts, and other documentation required for engineering records and projects. 3. Works closely with other departments and customers to design solutions to improve production processes, reduce downtime, increase O.A., ergonomic design, and economic viability of our operation. 4. Controls Nordson parameters and reflect the updated changes to coworkers as necessary 5. Participate in design reviews, equipment buy-offs, process reviews. 6. Coordinate and work with contracted Engineer to ensure that equipment meets all of the Pre-Start Health and Safety Reviews (PSHSR) requirements. 7. Assist in training plant personnel when requested. 8. Lead Continuous Improvement Program initiatives. 9. Develop and maintain plant equipment standards. 10. Prepare capital quotation packages for approval as required. 11. Participate as required in all ISO/AITF-16949 activities such as PFMEA, APQP, and CPMP. 12. Follows and adheres to requirements of current customer quality and environmental management systems standards. 13. Performs other related duties as required.
Knowledge and Education
1. BSc. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering or a College Diploma in Industrial Manufacturing. 2. Minimum of 5 years' experience with weld assembly equipment and assembly automation. 3. Must have strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. 4. Experience with various stamping process/press and die workings is preferred. 5. Must be knowledgeable and experienced in the use of APQP, CAD, GD&T, PPAP, & PFMEA. 6. Ability to use CAD software. 7. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

Software: Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and other Windows based environments
WORKING CONDITIONS: Under the general direction of the Department Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer works independently, conferring regularly with plant personnel and outside contractors. The Manufacturing Engineer works in an office environment but may be exposed to some elements such as working in confined/awkward positions with exposure to noise/temperature/heights. A valid driver's license and passport are required, as day travel is a requirement of the job; overnight travel occasionally.
