Our private sector client is looking for a solid PM with software background to aid in a retail software solution.
Can be flexible on yrs of exp however they need to be very strong and able to deal with many different clients at once.
The ideal candidate needs to know SDLC thoroughly to be able to guide requirements and ensure the project stays on track.
This is a customer facing position, however no french required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure that customer's commitments are addressed and met on a timely basis.
This is a customer facing position. Must be able to analyze and communicate a customer’s business needs and relay project scope and objectives to the appropriate internal functional departments.
Establish project timelines and budgets, and provide regular project and financial health of each project.
Develop and write concise and clear software functional and system requirements.
Develop and maintain release delivery forecasts.
Validation of client IT infrastructure, target platform system software and configurations.
No direct reports, but is responsible for coaching and advising all individuals assigned to their projects about their specific activities within that project.
Comfortable working in a deadline oriented, multitasking, professional environment.
Able to coordinate functional department’s project resources such as work assignments, schedules, customer requirements interpretation, etc.
Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to deal with situations where information is difficult to obtain, complex or ambiguous.
Capable of analyzing client business needs in order to writing clear and concise detailed functional requirements specifications documentation.
Able negotiator to discuss scheduling and content with clients in line with resource availability and bandwidth within the team.
Strong desire to succeed and ability to work in a team environment.
Good knowledge of POS systems is an asset.
Excellent communication skills both written and spoken.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent mix of education and relevant work experience required.
Minimum of 5-7 years of project management experience in software development projects.
Experience with working within a structured software development life cycle. Knowledge of Waterfall/Agile development methodologies.
Experience with the project management of hardware and new product introduction projects is a definite asset.
Strong abilities to negotiate with client.
Significant experience in risk assessment and risk management in software development projects.
Experience in working in a matrix organization.
Experience in working in a software product environment.
Significant experience in business analysis, project risk assessment/management in software development projects.
Bilingual skills - English and French, an asset.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Professional and Microsoft Project tools.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
PMP Certification is not mandatory, but a definite asset.
