Providing reliability engineering support using standard reliability engineering principles and technical leadership skills to define, measure, model, and improve the reliability and robustness of the products. Responsible for design for reliability and robustness, failure avoidance, reliability growth, statistical analysis, modelling, and reporting. In addition, the candidate is expected to be able to provide training and support to various different functional teams within in all aspects of reliability engineering. Lead and support Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA) with specific emphasis on cause – failure mode – effect relationships, effects and severities, causes and occurrences, prevention and detection actions, and special characteristics. Support Robustness Engineering Design (RED) as part of the product development function, concentrating on P-Diagrams, Noise Factors, Control Factors, Loss Analysis, Verification Methods, and Parameter Design. Lead and support the Failure / Problem Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System for all products, working on key areas such as problem definition, root cause analysis, preventive and corrective actions, effectiveness, and prevention of recurrence (FRACAS). Perform a variety of analysis and modelling functions, such as: descriptive statistics, Weibull analysis, maintainability and availability, warranty, physics-of-failure modelling, Monte Carlo Simulation, optimization and decision models, Fault Tree Analysis, Reliability Block Diagrams, and tolerance analysis. Development of formal, informal, and ad-hoc reports and analyses in support of various engineering functions and activities. Some reporting efforts will require a high degree of development and refinement, as they will be required for ongoing reporting requirements (such as monthly Failure Review Board reports), while others will be limited scope and involvement. Direct related experience in reliability engineering and the ability to use first principle methods for model development and verification. Ability to use analysis tools such as Excel, Analytica & Weibull++ and experience with several tools such as ReliaSoft, Oracle Agile (PQM), Lumina Analytica APIS or other FMEA applications. B.Sc. / M.Sc. Engineering or related.
