This position is a key role in Best Buy's go to market strategy driving promotional sales events and weekly ad plans to grow sales, traffic and market share. The Retail Events Manager is responsible for developing, planning, and implementing corporate retail events by leading and inspiring cross-functional teams including Marketing, Merchandising, Ecomm, and Retail Operations. This role will work closely with the Sr Retail Marketing Manager to build the vision, strategy and approach to market and will own the cross-channel planning, orchestration and execution of retail events.
As a Retail Events Manager, you will...
- • Lead the development, planning and execution of the annual, quarterly, weekly advertising events and promotional themes, and orchestration of tactics across channels including flyer, signage, BestBuy.ca, CRM and digital marketing. • Develop innovative corporate sales campaigns that drive traffic and sales, working with various stakeholders including Marketing, Merchant Directors, Retail Operations and Ecomm to ensure marketing campaigns and plans are properly supported and meet business objectives. • Lead the planning and execution of weekly ad program, including annual flyer & email allocation, and corporate weekly themes, influencing the allocation of the weekly homepage on BestBuy.ca and project managing cross-functional teams ensuring clarity of messaging and consistency across all channels • Lead a weekly Marketing meeting with Merchant & Ecomm Directors to ensure alignment of retail marketing priorities, activities, marketing initiatives, and merchandising/ecommerce priorities. • Responsible for timely and thorough communication of retail event information to stakeholders and the maintenance of up-to-date information regarding events (using Confluence and other tools). • Act as a brand ambassador ensuring all customer facing retail messaging and creative meet our brand standards and upholds our brand identity. Provide creative direction for weekly ad program. • Provide marketing direction and guidance for effective and consistent execution of all corporate retail marketing campaigns and customer facing communications across all channels • Manage and oversee the Retail Marketing Associate (Events) providing training, coaching and daily guidance on the execution of retail marketing plans and strategies, and personal/career development. • Provide solutions to complex problems and manages complex situations • Assist team members with solving complex problems and/or offers guidance based on previous experience. Will act as the decision maker when the team is at an impasse • Resolve operational and process problems that impact the delivery and production of retail marketing • Meet/exceed Best Buy sales and traffic goals

The experience we need...
- • 7+ years in Advertising, Marketing or related function with a minimum 5 years of experience in a retail environment • Experience communicating between diverse business units and demonstrated skill in influencing/advising others • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, or eCommerce • High attention to detail, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills with an expert ability to make trade-offs to solve key issues • Significant knowledge and understanding of Marketing disciplines and both online and offline marketing strategies and tactics. • Strong people leadership and influencing skills with the ability to inspire and engage employees and cross functional teams • Highly organized with strong project management skills and understanding of timelines and the orchestration of activities to ensure cross-channel alignment • Salesmanship, negotiation skills with the ability to digest, understand & analyze sales information to influence decision making
