Position Overview
The safety and security of our hotel is paramount in creating a welcoming and memorable experience for our guests. As a Security Officer at the Fairmont Empress, your presence and customer service skills will make guests and employees feel secure knowing you’re there to help. Your keen eye for detail and thorough report-writing will ensure that issues are addressed and corrected immediately. If you’re a self-motivated, people-oriented individual with a passion for providing exceptional service, we want to meet you. The starting pay rate for this position is $23.30 per hour.

Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of the hotel, guests and employees
- Greet guests and visitors, respond to inquiries and provide information
- Research and report any incidents in accordance with standards of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts
- Perform interior and exterior patrols of hotel property and be a visible security presence while on duty
- Monitor CCTV camera system
- Act as First Aid Attendant and respond to all first aid calls while on duty
- Maintain effective relationships with Municipal, Federal or Corporate security/police forces
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service related position
- BST certificate and Valid BC Security License or willingness to obtain a Security License
- Occupational First Aid level 2
- Bondable
- Completely fluent English language skills, both written and verbal
- Must be available for all shifts including evening and night shifts
- Clear, professional and helpful communication in person and over the phone
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
- A high level of responsibility and ability to work well independently with minimal supervision
- Commitment to provide excellent service and exceed guests' expectations
- Impeccable grooming and presentation
- Physical ability to perform the requirements of the job, including:
- Standing/walking for extended periods of time
- Performing repetitive work
Note: Our ideal candidate will have open availability and be able to work fluctuating hours based on business levels.
