The Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program (HRLMP) is a collaborative program funded and operated jointly by Hamilton Health Sciences and St. Josephs Hospital. The Program is committed to change and innovation, through education, service and research, to bring the highest quality science into healthcare for the benefit of the community and to participate in the clinical application and interpretation of the science.
-Minimum of 5 years current experience in a Histocompatibility Laboratory
-BSc, Health Management Certificate, CHA/S (ABHI) preferred
-Demonstrated evidence of leadership skills, effective communication skills and issue management skill
-Demonstrated ability to work in and foster a team environment
-Demonstrated critical thinking and organizational skill
-Demonstrated commitment to self professional development
-Demonstrated knowledge of quality management
-Scheduling, monitors workflow and reassigns staff as necessary to ensure effective staffing resource management to ensure turn around times are met
-Leads quality assurance and maintains all QC activities Reviews and recognizes unusual quality control results and trends, troubleshoots, takes and documents corrective action and notifies Technical Supervisor or designate. Effectively communicates findings to staff.
-Operates and maintains equipment. Recognizes failure, trouble shoots, takes corrective action and ensures appropriate documentation
-Maintains inventory and reagent quality control.
-Maintains external QA activities.
-Participates in design and coordinates implementation of new methodology / technology and the necessary validation as per guidelines.
-Acts as key resource to the Laboratory Manager, Head of Service and Medical staff on technical and theoretical operation
HOURS OF WORK:
Monday to Friday: Days, weekends, Holidays, and on-call
