We have an opportunity available for a Sr Avionics Engineer Specialist located in Vancouver BC. The company is a leading aerospace and defence organization providing engineering and maintenance for international military and original equipment manufacturers.
Sr Avionics Engineer Specialist
Location: Vancouver, BC
Senior Avionics Specialist to provide technical avionics expertise to support all electronic and electrical designs and systems. The Specialist is the Subject Matter Expert in Avionics & Electrical Engineering. Apply the principles and practices of system engineering and project management to all work assignments. Plan and conduct regular engineering team meetings and present technical and schedule progress. Identify issues and risks. Assign action items and risk /issue mitigation activities and track to closure. Support all internal management reviews and audits. Support all customer technical and management reviews and audits. Prepare work statements and provide cost estimates for modification work. Design and develop engineering documentation with substantiation and justification for modification. Preparation of engineering calculations and /or tests and related reports. Liaise with Airworthiness Authority and obtain certification for modification. Provide engineering support and liaison for other departments and customers. Preparation of repairs, processes and procedures as required. Provide Maintenance documentation support. Liaise with manufacturers/suppliers. Provide technical liaison for work being accomplished by outside agencies. Conduct technical investigations to determine the cause of avionics issues. Maintaining a knowledge of Transport Canada and Federal Aviation Administration regulations affecting area of expertise. Provide avionics expertise and support with all avionic and electrical design and applications, as applied to Transport and Utility class aircraft. Prepare or review technical requirements documents, system/ground/flight test procedures and reports, certification reports. Ensure modifications are certifiable by Transport Canada and FAA. Integrate the development activity of avionics systems with internal and external groups as well as participating in meetings and reviews with certification authorities. Thorough understanding of function, integration & certification of transport aircraft electrical and avionics systems. Degree in Electrical /Avionics Engineering or Diploma in Electrical /Avionics Technology. Experience in aircraft Electrical/Avionics engineering including certification activities.
