Our stores are where the magic happens and we need strong leaders on the front line. The Store Leader in Training program prepares recent college graduates with the tools they need to become successful PetSmart leaders. In this program, you’ll rotate through various departments of our retail stores learning the operational skills you’ll need to run your own store efficiently. You will also build interpersonal and leadership skills that will give you the confidence to inspire and develop your associates. And you won’t be doing it alone; you’ll learn from experienced leaders and have a dedicated mentor to help you along the way. After four months in the program, you’ll be ready to assume the role of a PetSmart Leader.

What will you do?
- Learn how to lead a store for a Fortune 300 retailer
- Follow a structured learning path with various developmental resources
- Drive merchandising and inventory standards within the store
- Execute marketing/advertising plans
- Manage the performance review and hiring processes
- Lead a diverse team of associates
- Observe and learn from PetSmart leaders
- Interact with customers, PetSmart associates and animals on a daily basis

What will you need?
- Bachelor’s degree (within the past 12 months or on track to graduate by December or May)
- Passion for retail management and the retail industry
- Strong leadership and coaching skills; past leadership experience in retail or food service environment preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
