About the role:Support services are needed to assist in the reintegration of Indigenous offenders who are releasing from Drumheller Institution into urban centres. This is a new project and Calian is looking for qualified applicants to participate in establishing the support service program.In this very diverse role, you could be responsible for providing health, wellness, life skills training and/or counselling to Indigenous clients prior to release. After release, you would be ensuring they have the services they need to reintegrate into the community.
The qualifications: • Two years experience within the last four years providing health, wellness or life skills training or counselling to Indigenous people in a group or individual setting• 5 years of experience specifically related to trauma, additions and/or life skills• 5 years of experience acquiring cultural competency through working with Indigenous communities, groups or individualsWhile Calian is open to all qualified applicants, due to the nature of this contract, Calian is actively seeking applicants that identify as First Nations, Inuit or Metis. Those candidates that are First Nations, Inuit or Metis are asked to self identify as part of the application process.
Type of assignment:This is a Casual Contract, with hours likely between 20-37.5 per week.
