Position Title: Transportation Field Supervisor – Tanklines

Title of manager this position reports to: Tanklines Transportation Manager
Work Rotation (if applicable): Five days on, two days off
Work Days / Hours: Sunday (on call) Monday-Thursday 8-5:00 or Tuesday-Friday Saturday (on call) with extended hours as required. Will periodically involve overnight travel.
Purpose of Role: Work with drivers to train in proper product handling procedures and site training at our offload and loading facilities, to meet all of our customers needs.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Communicate, review, and ensure Alberta Transportation, National Safety Code (NSC) and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) compliance. Ensure logs are up to date for driver review.
Assist Transportation Manager and Dispatch in resolving driver/equipment issues, incidents and needs, on and off the road.
Ensure drivers are fully trained/orientated at required sites.
Work with Dispatch to establish efficient routing.
Perform spot check audits on customer facilities, Tanklines equipment and drivers when requested and provide recommendations for appropriate personnel.
Establish good working relationships between drivers, Tiger and customers.
Resolve minor mechanical issues.
Work closely with dispatch to manage time efficiently to reduce any unnecessary delays.
Gathering paperwork in the field at all drop locations and dropping it off at the office to meet payroll/invoicing deadlines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, WORK EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
Basic knowledge of Alberta Transportation, NSC and TDG regulations.
Valid Class 5 driver’s license, Class 1 with air endorsement is preferred but not required.
Minimum 1 year previous work experience in transportation related field.
Mechanical aptitude.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to multitask and prioritize workload to meet deadlines and goals of the organization.
Working knowledge of MSOffice applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK CONDITIONS
Physical Requirements
Comfortable with heights, able to climb up and down ladders on trailers.
Modest physical exertion, pulling, bending, crouching, stooping and lifting + 50 pounds, sitting for extended periods of time.
Work Conditions:
Must be able to travel and work extended hours when required. Will periodically involve overnight travel
Exposure to adverse weather and road conditions
