With exceptionally high standards for efficient and effective handling, storage and transportation of cargo via the fast-paced, demanding, security sensitive air modality the management of the Air Freight Warehouse is of vital importance to the organization and its customers. Looking to not only continue but also improve upon the highly successful operations of the Air Freight Warehouse, we are looking for a talented leader to take the helm.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:
You will be well versed in managing a warehousing operation in general and a warehouse catering to airfreight product in particular. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient planning, direction and coordination of the activities of all employees engaged in the inbound and outbound movement of airfreight between the local airport and other domestic and international destinations.
You will act as the liaison between sales and the airfreight operations team as you and your team ensure that the inbound and outbound flow of goods through the warehouse, as promised by the sales team and arranged by the airfreight coordinators, takes place in a timely, efficient and accurate fashion. Your expertise will be called upon to assist with the preparation of responses to RFI RFQ for major customers and you will be tasked with preparing periodic productivity and performance reports with associated analysis.
Essentially, for the most part, you are managing a warehouse with the small but important distinction that all goods handled by said warehouse will have just arrived by plane or will be imminently departing by plane. To the extent that this is any different from any other warehouse are the unique handling requirements and security measures/clearances associated with the aviation industry. You should come fully equipped with the knowledge of these measures and will either have or be able to qualify for security clearance.
